Project Scope:
The 95th Street Terminal Improvement Project consists of constructing new passenger terminals on the north and south side of 95th Street. The project will utilize a unique phasing in which the current station, one of CTA's busiest, will remain open during construction. The new stations will be state of the art featuring modern architectural elements including an elevated pedistrian crossing over 95th Street, updated bus berthing areas, and accent lighting for night time visual interest. The stations will have redundant power feeds from separate ComEd power stations, natural gas back-up generators, and a PA system along with other safety and surveillance equipment. The project also includes track replacement, installation of a new 96th Street crossover and relay house, and other upgrades in the yard in order to improve train traffic to the 98th Street maintenance facilities.
